The American pastor Andrew Branson, who has been held in Turkey for about two years, arrived at Andrews Air Force Base outside Washington, a US official said on his Twitter account on Saturday.
"The plane carrying Branson and his wife arrived," wrote Tony Perkins of the American Religious Freedom Commission. Branson is scheduled to meet US President Donald Trump at the White House later on Saturday.
Earlier in the day, Trump thanked Turkey for the release of Branson, but denied that he had struck a deal with Ankara on the matter.
