I want to adopt a child. Does it have the rights of sonship? A question was answered by the Fatwa Committee at the Islamic Research Academy in Al-Azhar. The committee's response was as follows: Adoption is haraam and it does not entail the rights of sonship. As for sponsorship, maintenance and care, it is great. The best said peace be upon him: I and sponsor orphan orphaned in Paradise, pointed with the index finger and the middle, and the difference between them slightly.
Ibn Battal said: It is a right for every Muslim to listen to this hadeeth that he wishes to do with it; to be in heaven a companion to the Prophet - peace be upon him - and to the group of prophets and messengers.
